    Sales Director – Player-Coach (FinTech / Buy-Side Solutions) - New York

    Location: New York, NY (hybrid – 3 days on-site)
    Reporting to: Chief Revenue Officer

    The Role – Why We Need You

    We’re seeking a player-coach Sales Director who can personally win net-new logos while elevating a small, motivated team (currently 3 AEs) to elite status. You’ll have the autonomy to refine process, test new plays, and shape strategy—backed by a CRO who trusts your judgment and removes roadblocks instead of creating them.


    What You’ll Tackle

    Core Responsibility What Success Looks Like
    Own a personal new-business quota Bring in ≥ $1-2 M ARR from net-new buy-side logos in full first year.
    Coach & uplevel the team Run weekly deal clinics, shadow calls, and drive consistent MEDDICC hygiene; raise individual win-rates by 15 %+ within 12 months.
    Refine GTM playbook Identify high-yield ICP pockets, optimize outbound cadences, and tighten feedback loops with Product & Marketing.
    Enterprise deal leadership Orchestrate multi-stakeholder cycles (30–180 days) with C-suite, legal, and procurement; lead from discovery to signature.
    Forecast with precision Deliver 95 %+ forecast accuracy using CRM; instill discipline across the pod.
    Market evangelism Speak at industry events, contribute to thought-leadership, and turn wins into structured case studies.

     


    About You

    • Hunter DNA: 5-10 years closing new-business in FinTech, SaaS, or market-data solutions sold to asset managers, hedge funds, or other buy-side firms.

    • Player-Coach Cred: Proven ability to mentor or directly manage a small sales squad while still carrying your own bag.

    • Enterprise Sales Athlete: Comfortable running $500 K-$5 M ARR cycles, navigating legal/InfoSec, and mapping complex stakeholder webs.

    • Process-Driven & Curious: You iterate, A/B test, and back decisions with data—yet you know when judgment beats spreadsheets.

    • Networked: Existing senior-level relationships across the buy-side are a distinct advantage.
